In honor of National Pizza Month, we’re highlighting some of the best pizza in town:

#2 – Pyramid Pizza – Some say it’s the housemade sauce, others say it’s the thick-braided crust that keep them them coming back for more. One thing’s for sure, Pyramid Pizza has a long history of serving up hot, fresh pizza piled with toppings. Whether you are looking for a whole pie, or a single slice, Pyramid has what you crave… even after midnight Thursdays-Saturdays. Be sure to ask for honey to dip the braided crust!
#3 – Papa Keno’s – If you’re looking for a “slice as big as your face”, this is the place! Papa Keno’s has been hand-crafting their east coast-style pizza since 1991. The dough is made fresh daily, and many of their fresh, never frozen ingredients are locally sourced.
#4 – Minsky’s – Savory pizzas begin with hand-rolled dough layered with generous portions of lean, succulent meats, fresh-cut veggies, aromatic herbs and topped with 100% Wisconsin mozzarella, then baked to bubbling perfections. A gluten-free menu is available – Minsky’s has been named among the top 18 best pizza in America for gluten-free pizza fans.
#5 – Morningstar’s NY Pizzeria – Once named the best pizza in Kansas worth traveling for, this pizzeria serves up authentic New York style pizza made with the freshest ingredients. Dine in on a Monday when 15% of sales are donated to a local community organization.
#6 – Rudy’s Pizzeria – Your taste buds will love you! Choose your sauce (from homemade pesto to olive oil), choose your crust (white or wheat, original or thing) and choose from more than 40 toppings (from avocado to zucchini) and create your masterpiece. The Pocket Za is a local favorite – three of your favorite toppings folded neatly into a pocket pizza.
#7 – 715 – This award-winning European-style downtown eatery features local, handmade food. Pizza is just one of many delicious offerings on their eclectic menu.
#8 – The Wagon Wheel – Many consider “The Wheel” a Lawrence institution. With it’s close proximity to the University of Kansas campus, it’s a favorite for students and alumni. Pizza is served each night starting at 7:00.
#9 – Genovese – A unique blend of authentic Norther Italian Cuisine with local ingredients make Genovese a popular dinner spot. Enjoy the thin-crust (or substitute thick) specialty pizzas such as the “Marinated Shrimp” or “BBQ Pork”.
