We are excited to welcome visitors back to the Dole Institute!
We are now open Thursdays & Fridays 10-12 and 2-4 for walk-in visitors. No appointment is necessary.
Additional hours on Tuesdays & Wednesdays 10-12 and 2-4 are available by appointment only.

Inquiries for reservations must be requested no later than 48 hours from the desired date and time of your visit.
Your visit is not reserved until you receive a confirmation.
As always, admission is free.
In accordance with guidelines established by the University of Kansas, Douglas County, and the state of Kansas, safety measures in place include:
Self-monitoring: Please stay home and seek treatment as necessary if you feel unwell or have been knowingly exposed to COVID-19
Masks: Must be worn by all staff and visitors over age 2.
Reduced capacity: Total number of visitors will not exceed 15.
Social distancing: Keep at least 6’ away from individuals not in your party
Cleaning: Staff will clean regularly throughout the day, with specific attention to high-touch areas.
Guided tours, class visits, and research support are offered virtually only.

The Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics celebrate public service, civil discourse and the legacy of Senators Bob and Elizabeth Dole through its free programs, archives, museum and research opportunities.
Visitors to the Dole Institute can experience Bob Dole's personal life and political career through a variety of exhibits and personal artifacts. A series of videos narrated by Dole himself provide a personal look into the Senator's passion for public service. The museum also boasts rotating special exhibits on a variety of topics relevant to the Senator's career.
The Institute features stunning stained glass windows of the American flag and Bob Dole's hometown of Russell, Kan., a moving wall collage of Kansas WWII veterans and a unique Sept. 11 Memorial. Free guided tours are available with advance notice.
Admission is free and free public parking is available next to the Institute.
Facility Information
Dole Institute facilities are available on a rental basis to University of Kansas academic, departmental or student organization-sponsored events; local/state/national government-sponsored meetings or charitable/non-profit-sponsored events. The largest space can accommodate up to 150 people seated for a banquet, and up to 300 theatre style.
