Are you going to be in Lawrence during the Super Bowl, but you’re not quite sure where to watch the big game? We asked our friends on Social Media for their recommendations on the best place to watch in Lawrence. Here’s what they said…
Gaslight Gardens
Facebook fan Rachel L. recommends Gaslight Gardens in North Lawrence. We haven’t seen any details about what they have planned, but it feels a little house-party-esque, and that’s always a good time.
Shenago Lounge
Thanks to Facebook fan, Rachel B, we got an insider look at what Shenago Lounge has planned. Bring your favorite gameday grub to share and take advantage of the drink specials, including their very own Chiefs Cherry Bombs.
Set 'em up Jack's
If you can’t stand to miss a second of the game, then perhaps Set ’em Up Jack’s is where you should be. According to Facebook fan Susan D. it will be everywhere you look. She said, “I’ll bet it’ll be on about 50 TVs at Set ’em Up Jacks!” And one of those screens is freakin’ big… like 22-feet in high definition big. After a little research, we found that 50 TVs is a bit of an exaggeration. But they do have seven 10-foot big screens in addition to the giant one, so you still won’t miss a thing.
Liberty Hall
Yeah, 22-feet is big, but it’s not the biggest screen in town. Facebook fan Mary Conn reminded us, “Liberty Hall has a danged big screen.” And they have a danged good watch party planned! The party is free and open to all ages. There are drink specials on PBR cans as well as local Free State draws. AND there will be nachos plus slices of Rudy’s Pizza for sale in addition to their regular concessions. It’s also a great place to be in case a party spills out onto Mass Street.
Empire Bar & Billiards
Facebook fan Adam J. gave us the spill on what Empire Bar & Billiards has planned. “Pot luck, Kingdom Ale Buckets (5 cans) for $5. Dbl Deep Eddy cocktails $5. Get raffle tix for every purchase of those items. Raffle prizes: Empire/Arrowhead Tshirts and Mahommes Jersey.” Since Adam shared this, Empire has added a FREE Tortas Jaliscos Nacho Bar to the party. How can that be wrong?
